This recipe is an easy and quick Mewa Paag/dryfuit burfi/dryfruit chikkii. Dedicated specially for occasion of janmastmi. You can make this recipe and can store it for 2-3 weeks in refrigerator. Its like an energy bar consists of lots of dry fruits in every byte.
You can make this recipe with choice of your own dry fruits. Its quite rich in calories so its a perfect option for growing kids. Its is energy bar for them when they come home after playing.
I have uses 5 dryfruits so we can called it as panch mewa paag, this can also be made as bhog for laddu gopal on occasion of Janmastmi.
This mewa paag has many benefits because it contains edible gum and dryfuits like almonds and cashew which are very good for health this can be given to new moms also. You can make it with less ghee also. So must try this recipe and share your experiences with me.
Ingredients:
150 gm Makhana50 gm Cashew (Chopped)
50 gm Almonds(Chopped)
50 gm Edible Gum
50 gm Muskmelon Seeds
1 Dry Coconut (grated)
2 tbsp Desi ghee
360 gm Sugar
1.5 cup water
Method:
1.First we will roast dry fruits.2.Take a kadhai/pan and turn on flame.
3.Add muskmelon seeds and roast it until gets golden brown in colour, take out in a plate.
4.Add grated dry coconut to kadhai & roast for a minute and take out in a plate.
5.Now add 2 tbsp desi ghee to same kadhai/pan.
6.Add edible gum and roast until swells completely.
7.Roast chopped almonds & cashew in ghee until becomes golden brown in colour, take out in a plate.
8.Roast makhana with ghee until gets golden brown in colour and take out in aplate.
9.Now coarsely grind all the roasted dryfuits & edible gum seperately.
10.Mix all the coarsely grinded dryfruits in a plate with help of hands.
11.Grease a plate or thali with ghee for mewa paag.
12.Take two bowl of same size,transfer prepared mixture in bowl and in another bowl take approximately less or same amount of sugar.
13.Now we will prepare sugar syrup.
14.Turn on flame & add 1.5 cup of water to kadhai or pan.
15.Add sugar to it, keep stirring & boil it.
16.Make 1 string suhar syrup.
17.Add prepared mixture and immediately turn off the flame.
18.Quickly mix and pour mixture in greased plate/thali, dab to spread the mixture evenly.
19.Leave it for 20 min to set.
20.Then cut in desired shape & serve.
